Conrad Maldives Hilton Beach Villa Review

The Luxury Beach Villa is either available by paying cash or using Hilton Honor loyalty points. If you become a Hilton Honors member at Silver / Gold or Diamond Member status you will receive One Free Night for every Five nights booked A standard cost in points will set you back 95k per night or pay an average of £530 plus per night.

This accommodation is 150sq m / 1614 sq feet of pure luxury. From the moment we were escorted to our front door by our personal host to the minute we entered the Beach Villa we were simply blown away by its sheer size and luxurious look & feel.

Entrance / Hallway:

As you open your own villa front door, you enter a light & airy hallway with floor to ceiling glass panels which looks out onto own your private Courtyard rear garden. You immediate notice the air conditioning when coming out of 30c outside.

At the end of the glass hallway, this lead through to the largest Living area we have ever seen in a hotel / resort room. The sheer size and grandeur of the Living area was mind blowing. Off the hallway to the right located an amazing bathroom area, a large closet / wardrobe area off to the left with a separate toilet and wash hand basin.

Bathroom area:

The bathroom area consists of two separate, freestanding marble wash hand basins, mirrors, lighting and complimentary Luxury toiletries. Sumptuous Quality 100 thread count Egyptian cotton hand towels with bath towels & extras stored underneath. Also supplied are toothbrush holders, hand tissues, amenity kits etc. In fact, everything you could ever need...

Rear Courtyard External Rain Fall Shower:

Off the bathroom, we discovered a set of sliding doors leading out to a paved, patio area with the most amazing Rainfall shower we have ever witnessed. This area, even though located outside was extremely private with high walls around the perimeter. To shower in the open gardens is a liberating experience with only birds in the trees as your audience. The shower area is stocked with luxury, organic essential oils shower gels & shampoo / conditioner.

Outside Bathing Pavillion:

At the rear of our Private Garden we viewed a large, under Canopy Spa Bath officially known as the Bathing Pavilion. The bathing pavilion is surrounded by lush greenery, trees, bushes and exotic flowers. The pavilion steps up from the surrounding pathways into the largest and most luxurious spa bath we have ever seen.

We decided one night under the stars to try out the Bathing Pavilion with a few glasses of wine. Just another unforgettable experience from our stay.

We later found out that you can pay for Room service to fill the bath for you including essential oils…

Closet / Wardrobe area:

The entire Beach Villa is air-conditioned throughout making it always extremely comfortable and a welcome break to cool down from the hot Maldives sun outside. Off the hallway we discovered a large wardrobe / closet area separated with sliding wooden doors containing a safe, shelving & hanging rails for clothing.

This area held lots of additional quality bed linen, towels, bathrobes, slippers and a Complimentary Conrad branded wicker beach bags. The wardrobe area is extremely large and easily accommodates three adults clothes and luggage. To find this wardrobe area with its own air conditioning was a great benefit, it kept our clothes cool and a relaxing area to get changed in straight from the shower.

Main Living area:

As we entered the Villa’s main living area, we were surprised to see two sofas. One a lounger and the other a Sofa bed (Sleeps two). This area can be separated by a movable curtain for Privacy, excellent for children or friends / family staying with you. The Beach Villa can accommodate up to Three adults or Two adults & Two children.

As Diamond Hilton Honor members we were delighted to find a personal management greeting letter welcoming us to our room including a bottle of Champagne on ice, various exotic fruits and chocolates which was a lovely surprise.

The main living area contains the largest, Super king bed with top quality feather filled pillows and quality Egyptian cotton bedding. The bed linen gave the feeling of real luxury and the bed was super comfortable providing a great nights sleep every night during our stay.

Coffee / Refrigerator area:

Just off the main living area contains an under counter refrigerator filled with min bar sized alcoholic and canned soft drinks. Two large, Conrad branded water bottles, a carton of milk and a selection of chocolate bars. These items except the water & milk are all chargeable to your room bill.

This area contains a Nespresso coffee maker with a large selection of complimentary coffee pods which are replenished everyday by house keeping.

Water was also replenished twice a day which at some resorts are chargeable which was a great benefit.

Living Room Additional Facilities:

A 32 inch LCD TV kept us entertained during our stay with free cable TV channels. You can even order Room Service from the TV set and receive personal messages instantly. We used the free internet Wi-Fi service complimentary in all rooms in the resort throughout our stay.

As standard, every room at Rangali Island also provides a DVD / CD player, Ipod docking station and a hairdryer.

Housekeeping Service:

As Diamond Hilton Honor members we were delighted to find a personal management greeting letter welcoming us to our room including a bottle of Champagne on ice, various exotic fruits and chocolates which was a lovely surprise.

House keeping was of an excellent standard and our Villa was cleaned twice a day. Items were replenished on each visit such as our water bottles, coffee capsules, milk and fresh fruits. The housekeeping staff were extremely polite and trained well and undertook their tasks as quickly as possible in order to limit the disturbance to guests.

Outside Patio area:

Property & Room Amenities:

Sliding patio doors exit from the main living area to your private garden. The canopy covered patio area consists of two, cushioned wooden sun loungers & side tables. The sliding patio doors are also opened from the garden side by swiping your room key card on the reader which was very convenient when wanting to enter your Villa from the Beach.

Your private gardens are full of coconut trees, bushes and flowers in bloom. On many occasions we saw fruit bats fly between the trees and other exotic birds. We followed the pathway through the gardens to find at the end the most jaw dropping, fluffy white sandy beach and breath-taking blue lagoon awaiting us.

We had finally found Paradise on earth!

Beach & Lagoon:

Our Beach Villa (203) was located in the low 200’s. After researching previous reviews, we both agreed that this location on the entire Island was perfect for us. The low 200’s accommodation side of the island faces into a beautiful, shallow warm blue water lagoon.

It’s extremely private on this side of the island and you are well away from the restaurants and bar areas. As you walk into the lagoon waters you feel just how warm the water really is in the Maldives.

In the far distance we could see the Muraka, the first in the world, under water suite which costs an eye watering $50,000 a night to stay in, one for the mega rich of the world.

Does the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island have a Swimming Pool for guests?

Yes, there are a total of two guest swimming pools namely Infinity pools. There are one large guest infinity pool on the main island and a smaller infinity pool on the quiet island. Both have a large number of sun loungers, parasols and waiter service from the bar.

Every Beach Villa has conveniently located at the end of its private gardens on the beach, two wooden Sun Loungers and cushions under either a thatched canopy or movable canopy and side table for drinks. A waiter visits twice a day on the beach taking your drink orders.

Being on the quiet side of the island, we literally were the only two people for as far as the eye could, it was almost our own private beach on most days.

The lagoon is fairly shallow and we could easily walk for a many minutes until the water reached our shoulder height. The water is so warm and clear in the lagoon that we just didn’t want to leave. On many occasions shoals of small fish swim close to the shore.

As we ventured further out, we noticed the most beautiful, large fish swimming past our legs. On some occasions we noticed giant Manta Rays swim past in the lagoon. Along the beach, small boat excursions take guests to local dive sites for Scuba diving.

If there is one thing you should always experience on Rangali Island, that is the snorkelling experience. I took advantage of the free snorkelling equipment on hire during our stay and spent many hours exploring the lagoon rocks amazed by the beautifully coloured fish.

Clean beach towels are left on our Sun Loungers every morning and extra towels left in storage units along the beach. Our personal host visited us everyday during our stay to ensure everything was to our satisfaction and to keep us informed of special events on the island. I took advantage of the free snorkelling equipment hire during our stay and spent many hours exploring the lagoon.

Conrad Hotel Maldives Breakfast / Afternoon Tea:

What Food & Drink options are available?

With two restaurants to choose from everyday for your Breakfast, we chose everyday during our stay the Atoll Market due to its close location to our Villa.

What kind of Breakfast is served?

The Atoll Market serves breakfast daily from 6.00am with a wide selection of hot and cold foods for breakfast Inc sausages, bacon, various versions of cooked eggs. A chef will cook you eggs to order whatever your preference is and cook pancakes / waffles to order while you wait.

Another chef cooks to order omelette with any fillings of you request, a juice bar, cold meats, jams, toast, breads, fresh fruits, yogurt etc. Waiter service shows you to your chosen table and takes your order for Tea or Coffee which awaits you when you return selecting your breakfast from inside.

As a benefit of all Hilton Gold or Diamond members, Breakfasts are completely free for all guests. This free benefit can save you up to £140 per day for two people and also includes a free afternoon tea at the Mandhoo restaurant starting at 3pm everyday. Afternoon Tea included finger sandwiches, scones, pastries, canape’s and tea, coffees and soft drinks.

Beach Villa Overview

Firstly, we had to pinch ourselves just to remind us that we were lucky enough to be staying in the Maldives, let alone being able to stay in two different accommodations in a 5 Star Conrad Resort here all on Hilton points.

If you look at the Square footage of the Beach Villa, then in our opinion this wins hands down. You get nearly 80% more space in the Beach Villa for your money and you do notice the difference in size when you stay in the Water Villa.

Plus it’s cheaper, if you pay cash then your looking at an approx difference of 40% cheaper for the Beach Villa In comparison to the Water Villa.

However, for a Water Villa Hilton charges the same amount in points as the Beach Villa at 95k points per night so in this instance the Water Villa is better all round.

We found the Facilities in both Villas similar except for the Sundeck in the OWV. Even though we loved walking down the steps into the lagoon, we also loved being on an amazing beach in one minute at the end of our private garden in the BV. You do sacrifice the beach in the Water Villa.

If you ever get the chance to stay at the Conrad Maldives in a Beach Villa, we would definitely recommend enquiring about an upgrade to a Water Villa like we did just to experience the two accommodations in one stay.

Beach Villa Cost Breakdown:

We stayed in the King Beach Villa for 9 x Nights plus upgrading to a Water Villa for 1 x night.

9 x Nights in a Conrad Rangali Island BV can be purchased from £4800 plus an additional £711 for the one night in the Water Villa.

The standard Hilton cash rate for the Water Villa is around $880 per night but this price fluctuates depending on what time of year you decide to stay. We found by researching on the web that you can usually always find a cheaper deal using one of the many Online Travel Agents advertising on the internet.

Conrad Maldives Seaplane Transfers:

Every customer Staying on Rangali Island has to pay for the Seaplane Transfers to and from Male international airport. This costs an eye watering £445 each so £890 Return for the two of us. Read our Review on the Seaplane Transfer here - Conrad Maldives Seaplane Transfer

How Far is the Conrad Maldives from Male Airport?

One of the most costly 35 x mins on a plane we know of but none the less worth it just for the chance to experience a Transmaldivian airways seaplane experience.

Before you depart on the Seaplane transfer, you have the pleasure of experiencing the amazing Conrad Lounge, review found here - Conrad Maldives Male Lounge

Our final bill came to £1540 including the Upgrade to the Water Villa, thats including all our food and the Seaplane Transfers for two people. We were very happy to pay less than 1.6k for that package as a cash purchase cost would of been nearer £6500.

Our final bill total was only possible by us being Hilton Diamond status members providing us Free Breakfasts everyday and free afternoon tea. We did enquire about the cost of breakfast by cash and we were quoted £140 a day.

What are the Check-In and Check-Out Times?

The Conrad Maldives hotel states check in times of 3pm and 11pm check out. However, we found that arriving at 11am off the seaplane, we were allocated our room by 11.30am.

Our Maldives Cost Saving Tip:

To save money on expensive lunches, we choose to eat breakfast as late as possible.

The breakfast sitting is open until 11am everyday, this enabled us to last through until 3pm everyday when the complimentary “Afternoon Tea” was served, this was helped by a little Snacking on fresh fruit / pastries left in our room by housekeeping.

If you like to drink, everyday between 5pm - 6pm the resort hosts a "Happy Hour" where drinks are all half price.

To stick to a low budget during your stay, we strongly recommend that you acquire Hilton Gold or above status when Staying at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. Remember that you get free breakfasts everyday and free afternoon tea and are invited to the managers guest meeting which includes free drinks and canapes one evening.

Hilton Gold status provides all guests staying on Rangali Island amazing benefits such as every 5th night absolutely free when paying with Hilton points, Free Breakfasts, Afternoon Tea etc for all guests staying.
